Robina Town Centre wins ICSC Gold Design Award

November 2, 2012

QIC Global Real Estate’s Robina Town Centre has won the Renovation and Expansion Gold Design Award in the Design and Development category at the International Council of Shopping Centres’ (ICSC) Asia Pacific Shopping Centre Awards in Shanghai.  The development was designed by The Buchan Group.

QIC Global Real Estate Managing Director, Steven Leigh, said the ICSC Shopping Centre Awards are the industry’s most prestigious.

“To win the Renovation and Expansion Gold Design Award in the Design and Development category is outstanding international recognition for Robina Town Centre,” said Mr Leigh.

“The criteria considered many different elements, including the quality and innovation of the design concept, master planning and land use, financial performance including sales productivity and occupancy, as well as retail configuration and layout, and the quality of internal and external finishes.”

The project has also been awarded 2011 Property Council of Australia (Qld) Excellence in Design Award, 2010 Property Council of Australia Retail Property of the Year Award, and 2009 Property Council of Australia (Qld) Retail Property of the Year.  The Buchan Group team for Robina Town Centre was led by Project Principal Peter Zillman and Associate Director Gary Butler.

All 2012 ICSC Gold Award winners are automatically submitted for the 2013 Global Best of the Best ICSC VIVA (Vision, Innovation, Value, Achievement) Awards Programme.
