At 80 storeys, Q1 is the world's tallest residential tower. Undertaken in association with Sunland Design, the award-winning project rises 323m and comprises a sculptural tower of 527 residential apartments, a 2-storey podium retail precinct and conference facility. There is a 2-storey observation deck at the top of the tower.
The tower footprint is less than 10% of the site area, enabling retail, large swimming pools and water features, gymnasium, spa and dining areas at ground level. A large plaza provides a pedestrian-friendly urban space.
Residential apartments are separated into portions, with the smaller low-rise units aimed at investors and operated as a hotel, and larger, high-rise units aimed at owner-occupiers. The tower is completely enclosed in a glass curtain wall with operable windows to all habitable rooms. The curtain wall includes double glazing to the north-west corner in response to the high solar radiation levels.
Q1 was completed in 2006.
