The design for the 3-level Treasury Brisbane Casino capitalises on the exuberant Italian renaissance features of Brisbane's historic Treasury building. Facilities include Club Conrad, with its own entrance, gaming rooms and VIP accommodation for members. There are three restaurants, seven bars and a public lounge designed around a suite used by Queensland premiers between 1886 and 1905. A hidden but significant feature of the project was the substantial underpinning of the Treasury Building to provide an additional basement level for kitchen facilities and loading.
The Buchan Group was also the architect for the adjacent Treasury Hotel and the restoration of Queens Park, which lies between the two heritage buildings, and the creation of a seven-level structure below the park which provides parking for 750 cars and has one level of back of house facilities for both hotel and casino.
