Construction is progressing on the residential tower
of the Vogue South Yarra development at 670 Chapel Street, South Yarra. The iconic tower form is the dominant element of development and is elevated over a mixed-use podium that defines the street edge and maximises the opportunities afforded by the superb site.
The finely detailed residential tower provides an iconic presence along Chapel Street, with a play of light and shade provided by glazing designed as a series of enveloping curtains, which open to reveal large balcony areas for all apartments. The curved, free-flowing form provides direct views to the Yarra River and CBD. The crown of the tower is a triangulated, faceted form, which captures and reflects sunlight over the course of the day, marking the geographical centre of Chapel Street.
The 498 Vogue Apartments are due for completion
in 2012. Two levels of retail, Vogue Plaza, opened
in 2010.
