Following the conclusion of a collaborative and pioneering design process, today we’re excited to attend the official opening of the AEIOU Pine Rivers Autism Centre of Excellence.
Located on the northside of Brisbane, this world-class facility is a hub for autism-specific early intervention, research opportunities, specialist outreach support and training for allied health and education professionals.
Made possible by funding from the Australian Government, design of the centre entailed an investigation of new design ideas, technologies and spectrum specific needs, along with consideration of the challenges faced in service delivery. Technology was a key consideration throughout the process with a fully digitized service enabling data capture, reporting and pilot technology for therapy and support processes.
Buchan worked hand in hand with consultants and long-term partners the AEIOU Foundation for Children with Autism and Hutchinson Builders to undertake architectural and interior design services, delivering a functional and state-of-the-art facility, doubling the AEIOU’s service capacity in the region.
