Envisioned to create a new cultural community heart for the city of Ipswich, we are delighted to see the Library and Civic Space taking shape with construction and landscaping being realised on site.
The design invites visitors to the fold with shaded green space, a water retreat and public stage which will be activated through a program of performances and events. Sitting alongside the Civic Space, the Library is defined by a feature entry marquee and ample windows promoting visibility and connectivity between the two areas.
The Library and Civic Space form part of a fully master-planned and digitally integrated mixed-use precinct which will also include a retail hub and new council administration building once complete.
Buchan is working in close collaboration with the Ipswich City Council, Hutchinson Builders (Construction), Ranbury Management Group (Project Managers) and Vee Design (Landscape Architects) to undertake masterplanning, architecture, interior design and brand experience services for this world-class city transformation.
