Buchan is pleased to announce Paul Harrison has been appointed as Principal in Buchan’s Adelaide studio; the appointment recognises his exemplary leadership qualities, design pedigree and commitment to Buchan and its clients’ commercial success.
“Paul has built a resume that encompasses more than 15 years of solid experience in retail, hotel and hospitality and mixed-use architecture. We look forward to the continued success of Buchan’s Adelaide team with Paul’s strategic ambition, creative vision and breadth of skills and knowledge.” says Bruce Shaw, Buchan Group Managing Principal.
Paul’s interest in architecture began with the freedom of creating and building objects on the farm and evolved into what could be communicated and shaped through design. “As architects we have the ability to shape the built environment and contribute to the story of a city,” says Paul.
After working overseas, Paul joined Buchan’s Melbourne studio in 2005 before moving to the Adelaide studio in 2010. He has made a significant contribution to many Buchan developments in Adelaide over the last decade, including the upcoming SkyCity redevelopment and expansion, Burnside Village and Rundle Place. Paul’s proven leadership qualities and open and honest communication, coupled with his hands-on design approach, results in strong client relationships and exemplary creative and technical concepts that maximise the commercial potential of a project.
“Clients put their trust in me to deliver their most complex and large-scale projects. I like working with clients to communicate our design ideas that generate excitement and realise their aspirations,” says Paul.
As Principal, Paul will lead the Adelaide team in delivering Buchan’s exceptional standards of client care, and continuing its commitment to be a globally recognised leader in design.
“Communication is the key to producing successful projects and it comes down to my openness and ability to connect with people,” says Paul.
