Last night a group of lucky guests had the opportunity to experience the Qantas Founders Museum‘s Luminescent Longreach Light and Sound Show ahead of its public opening next week.
The immersive experience explores the origins of the airline and celebrates the beauty of aircraft using 3D animation and illustration projected onto a Boeing 747. Honouring the airlines innate connection to Australia, the show features a truly special Welcome to Country which was created in consultation with local Iningai custodians.
Described by Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk as “world class”, the show will bolster Longreach’s tourism offering supporting growth in the area. A new airpark roof designed by The NRA Collaborative will also allow the show to operate year-round.
Buchan’s brand experience team worked closely with the Qantas Founders Museum, providing direction, production design, curation, 3D modelling, animation, illustration, storyboarding, scriptwriting, projection mapping, and sound design services. This, combined with extensive research and the creation of dedicated hardware to run the show, make Luminescent Longreach a truly unique project which is both visually exciting and meaningful and moving.
