Two new Principal promotions announced

Buchan is proud to announce the promotion of Emma Ridings from our Gold Coast studio and Nicola Palmer from our Auckland studio to the role of Principal from 1 July 2019, acknowledging their notable contribution to the continued success of Buchan.

“It is great to recognise the hard work and exceptional results achieved by both Emma and Nicola in their respective studios and for the wider business,” says Buchan CEO Andries Meyer.

“Emma’s contribution to the leadership of the Gold Coast studio alongside Managing Principal, Brett Saville has been invaluable, and we are excited to see her continued influence on the studio’s design culture”.

“Nicola’s impact on the Auckland studio is similarly impressive, with her extensive experience in masterplanning and retail making her widely respected by her clients and industry peers,” said Mr Meyer.

The promotions bring Buchan’s Principal numbers to 33 across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Emma Ridings

Since joining our Gold Coast studio in 2002, Emma Ridings has applied her client focused style and creative energy to design and deliver notable developments such as Harbour Town Eats, Peppers Blue on Blue, The Lanes and Marina Mirage. In addition to her project work, Emma is an active member of the Design Leadership Group and also leads Buchan’s Research and Development initiative, which aims to consolidate our knowledge bank and promote the sharing of thought leadership to drive insights and inspiration for our clients.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Buchan Principal Group and look forward to engaging in creative opportunities and bringing conceptual ideas to life” says Ms. Ridings.

Nicola Palmer

Nicola Palmer has been an integral part of our Auckland studio since 2017, where she has applied her vast retail knowledge to projects such as Northlands, Queensgate, Golden Sands Papamoa and Northwest. Nicola’s core strength is in the project procurement, feasibility, concept, preliminary and development design phases. She has sound retail planning sensitivity, which gives her the ability to produce commercially astute results for her clients and makes her invaluable to the continued growth of our New Zealand practice.

“It is great to continue my contribution to the growth of the Auckland studio and development of our people,” says Ms. Palmer.
