Harbour Town Eats

Gold Coast, Australia

Overview

Harbour Town Eats is the newly renovated and extended casual dining precinct at the renowned shopping centre Harbour Town Premium Outlets on the Gold Coast.

As the centre itself is a street-scaped village, not an enclosed mall, we designed the dining precinct to reflect this and celebrate the sub-tropical location by retaining an alfresco plaza. We created a shaded boulevard with a palette of eclectic finishes married with biophilic design that celebrates the tenants individuality. The holistic design is cemented through considered uniform signage details, an exposed, white structural framework spanning the boulevard and cantilevered awnings, creating all weather respite.

All of this is interspersed with an intricately designed landscaped spine, including planters containing indigenous, local species that assist in climate management. The covered areas allow shade during the lunchtime rush but also create an air of intimate dining as dusk arrives. Harbour Town Eats transitions seamlessly from day to night due to carefully thought out festoon lighting, feature pendants and low-level linear lighting. Layered design inclusions of patterns and textured finishes give a subtle but impactful final outcome. The result is a warm, inviting and buzzing social hub; perfect for a casual lunch, a pre-movie bite or a late-night shopping dinner date.
