Peppers Blue on Blue Resort

Magnetic Island, Australia

Overview

The architectural design of Peppers Broadbeach takes inspiration from its tropical waterfront surrounds and eucalyptus woodlands and is sensitive to the environmental requirements of the world heritage listed Great Barrier Reef and the island’s rugged national park.

Created to maximise the strength of its natural setting, the five-star resort has an ultra-modern design characterised by floor to ceiling glass windows, natural colors reflecting earthy and organic marine and mountain views.

The residential component is separated into 10 buildings with 158 sleekly decorated apartments. This reduces the apparent scale and allows better penetration of cooling breezes into a reasonably dense development. External louvre screens have been used to reduce the solar impact on bedroom windows while living areas windows are shaded by balconies.

The development offers two main external recreation areas each with a lagoon style swimming pool. The resort restaurant has views across the boardwalk and outdoor deck to Townsville. There is also a health spa and conference facilities. The completed project offers a level of resort accommodation not previously available on Magnetic Island.
