Introducing Bar Alba
Buchan is proud to introduce one of Melbourne’s most anticipated bar reveals of the year: Bar Alba. Designed for local restauranteurs Jesse and Kym Davidson and taking cues from Kew’s renowned interwar architecture, the recently completed wine bar channels the old-world European charm of Italy’s enoteche while respecting the remnants of its heritage-listed site. The monolithic bar is the showpiece of the fitout, stretching nine metres down the right-hand side
Buchan announces suite of promotions
Buchan has made five new appointments to its global design team with leadership promotions announced across its Perth, Auckland and Christchurch studios. Bojana Hynes and Rhys Maxwell have been promoted to senior associates, while Alessandro Paladin, Arno Pieters and Bradley Hunting have been appointed as associates. Buchan CEO Stephen Auld says the announcement is a reflection of the practice’s ongoing evolution as an internationally acclaimed architectural, interior and brand experience

Buchan appointed to Australian Antarctic Division panel
Buchan has been appointed to the Australian Antarctic Division Standing Offer for Architectural Services. We are proud to be able to support the AAD’s Tasmanian and Antarctic facilities and Commonwealth investment in research to better understand our planet. Being on this panel accessible by other government departments and agencies also enables Buchan to support the Commonwealth with architectural and built environment projects across the country.
